ABOUT THE COALITION

We are a diverse coalition of environmental organizations, community groups, public health experts, workers' rights advocates, and more. We have come together to demand that Xcel Energy foster an equitable future for Pueblo workers and communities, transition away from dirty fossil fuels and false solutions, and prioritize affordable, clean energy for ratepayers.

We are Coloradans who love our incredible natural resources and envision a future where everyone, regardless of their identity and background, can enjoy a stable climate and afford to live a comfortable, dignified life. We believe that a better future for Colorado and Pueblo is possible and that we're already making progress towards that future. But right now, the profits of big corporations like Xcel Energy and high energy users like Google and Microsoft are being prioritized over energy affordability and environmental sustainability. For too long, communities like Pueblo and low-income energy customers across the state have been sacrificed so that big business can ever-increase their margins. The solution to this is real justice, where communities that have suffered are invested in and where real, affordable clean energy solutions help reduce pollution and lower energy costs. Together, we can call on Colorado's regulators to ensure the transition from fossil fuels is affordable, just and provides longer-term solutions to communities like Pueblo to stabilize the cost of energy while reducing climate pollution.
